Training in the gym was not always a natural and weekly activity for Bron, learning from a beginner stage to build her state of strength and fitness through education and hard work. Bron has 5 years of experience as a personal trainer, strength & conditioning coach, and mentor, now helping our members at The Athletic Club in bettering their movement and mindset.

Outside of the gym, Bron has an active lifestyle and believes this is the key to enhancing your health. Using the gym as a tool to better your body and mind so that you can do all the things you want to do.

Bron has developed a great system of coaching people through the changes and challenges life throws at them. It is her determined, positive and professional outlook that makes Bron such a great coach. The Athletic Club is proud to have her on the team.

We provide a regenerative system of training, housed within an elegant one-of-a-kind facility. Our mission is for our members to develop themselves to become a more balanced and resilient human through physical training, capacity enhancement, restoration and play. Our club believes in harnessing the power of a range of training disciplines; from strength, endurance, power, aerobic capacity, mobility, rehabilitation, Pilates, yoga, and meditation. We take the best of these training methods, creating an environment where your individual physical capacities are enhanced to optimise your body for the life you want to lead. It is your sanctuary that allows you to get the best, to become your best.

We offer simple memberships that include options for the minimal, optimal and maximal training doses. Meaning our memberships are designed to work for you and offer the best value. Our members booking app makes organising your classes each week simple and easy. We measure your current state, map your plan and goals, all whilst keeping you on the path to achieve your potential throughout every training phase.

With no lock-in contracts and the best of all, the ability to suspend your membership when you aren’t using it. Life is already full of negative stress, we do not allow our club to be part of your weekly negative stresses. As we say at the club, we want our members to “Choose your own adventure”.

At The Athletic Club you will work alongside your coach to prime your body, develop your strength, enhance your work capacity and restore your systems to get the best from your physical being. Prime

Preparation is the key to quality movement and training. This foundational component of training looks at addressing general mobility and stability. From here, we can specifically prepare the body for the training tasks at hand. Get the body ready for strength, power, skill or aerobic work to ensure you can perform precisely for what is required that day.

Restore

Post-training requires a recovery stimulus to adapt properly to the stress of the session. We promote a sequence of active and passive methods to help efficiently recover the body in the best ways possible, specific to the session completed. It isn’t about how hard you trained, but how hard you can recover. We believe in the complete restoration of the body’s systems to promote long term health and training success.

Enhance

The part of the program which looks to compliment or contrast the develop component by enhancing a physical capacity. They are typically short, sharp and provide a shock system of training to challenge the individual. This is where we target the precise intensity to promote a complete and effective training session.

Develop

The main component of your session is comprised of a deliberate skill and specific training program. These are found in every program and session the club runs. We look to challenge and target the individual to provide the right stimulus that will help adapt your body in that training area. These parts of training are crucial to improving your health, fitness and wellbeing for the long term. All programs are pre-planned and put together to build on one another over a training cycle.

Matty Rodgers

Coach

Matty Rodgers is a Human Development Coach and the creative mind behind The Athletic Club’s systems of practice. He is an exercise specialist with an extensive career in personal training, strength and conditioning coaching, powerlifting, weightlifting and CrossFit.

After studying exercise physiology at university, Matt realised a flaw in the current systems of training practices. Matt’s view of the current gym industry is that it is tackling health from an outdated perspective and incorrect forms of training. He believes that the same methods used for athletes and specialist populations can be used on general populations just at varying loads, intensities and precise prescriptive doses. He knows that everyone doesn’t want to be the strongest, the fittest or fastest. Yet the methods used to create these types of people are scientifically proven to create the ideal type of physiological adaptions. He believes in an approach that allows himself to assess his clients for where they are, create a specific process to get them to where they need to be and create a body that is balanced. His ability to transfer a lot of general exercise physiology knowledge into a very specific way make him a very unique coach.

With more than 12 years coaching experience, Matt’s hunger for developing the human body optimally for the ever-changing world continues to grow. As The Athletic Club’s Head Coach and owner, he strives for achieving the best with everyone that seeks out his training knowledge.
